We have arrived in Medellin — the locals pronounce it, “Medejeen.” It is surrounded by green mountains and is a city of winding streets and lots of steep hills. Really a beautiful place. After a marvelous meal with Kathy, a local missionary, we are settled in with our Colombia hosts, Gary and Marylou. After having been mostly sleepless since Sunday morning it was great to have a night’s sleep Monday.
We’ll be meeting with local pastors this afternoon (Tuesday). As expected, there are a few changes in our plans for the trip. Please pray that we’ll be “prepared messengers” as things unfold. Blessings to you!
Hey, dear readers! Jody and I would like to ask for your prayers as we head off to Colombia (Medellin and Bogota) to teach a School of Leadership to some of the local pastors. We will also be conversing with local house church leaders and with people interested in our book, co-written with Calvin and Julie Tadema, called Marriage RX – Prescription for a Radical Marriage. We will be traveling and working with the Tademas on this journey. We leave on the 31st and will return on February 8th. We’ll try to post a travel blog if we can.
Just to let you know, if you’ve been following Jody and the Abide team as they ministered in Colombia: all returned safely and excitedly from their journey. The Northwest gang, Gail, Calvin, Julie and Jody, got back on Thursday afternoon at about 5pm. They brought back pictures (I’ll try to set up a web gallery soon) and stories of healing, teaching and of a dozen ‘sonship studies’ set up in two cities. If you prayed, thanks for your important role in the success of the trip. It appears as though another visit is in the future. Also, you can be praying about the potential for a prayer summit for women in Macedonia.
