Politics: Let us Pray

[T]he April 17 issue of the New Yorker magazine quotes former and current intelligence and defense officials as saying the administration increasingly sees “regime change” in Tehran as the ultimate goal.”This White House believes that the only way to solve the problem is to change the power structure in Iran, and that means war.” (Unidentified senior Pentagon adviser on the war on terror.)

Is it any of my business? Only if they want to send my son over to fight again–and anybody else’s. You know, maybe regime change is what’s needed…right here at home. I did not take to the streets during Viet Nam, or at the begining of Iraq. I won’t make that mistake again.

As for regime change, that will have to wait for 2008, but in the mean time the headlines are the shadows of the human heart. I will be praying for wisdom for our President, congress, and other leaders, and looking for ways to act for peace in my home, on my street, in my city, and in my heart.
